While Kourtney Kardashian Barker is best known for her roles in her family’s hit reality TV shows and her fashion brand Poosh, her most recent new business sees her taking on the fashion industry through a partnership and ambassadorship with online retailer Boohoo.
On September 13th, during NYC Fashion Week, the mother of three presented the first of two fashion collections she will design for the label. The collection features 46 limited-edition pieces that are both functional and reflective of the star’s unique sense of style. Just a few months after Megan Fox’s sponsorship deal with Boohoo was announced, she follows in her mate’s footsteps.
She went on to say that she expected criticism from fans and sustainability activists over her collaboration with the brand, but that she welcomed the attention. She continued, “I certainly don’t have all the answers, but for someone who has done a fast fashion line collaboration in the past, which didn’t get backlash because I was not calling attention to trying to make better changes, I feel proud about doing it with intention and purpose.”
“I went straight back and forth about doing this collection with @boohoo because the first thing I think of when I hear the words ‘fast fashion,’ is that it’s bad for our planet,” Kardashian wrote on Instagram, referring to her latest Kourtney Kardashian style collaboration.
Recycled polyester is used for faux leather and satin in this new Boohoo venture, as well as Better Cotton-sourced regulated cotton and recycled sequins. However, not all of the components of the fabric blends are recycled.
